Luis Del Valle

The Trouble Makers  - This installation is a reflection of a contemplative journey into the enduring trials for equality and justice. The paintings draw upon iconic political figures whose activism furthered progress and serve as inspiration for contemporary visionaries. Luis uses the techniques of realism and graffiti coupled with objects and enclosures that contextualize the subject matter, drawing the viewer into the long traditions of art and yet speaking to viewers' modern sensibility.

Luis has been creating these pieces for the last 2 years and Art All Nite is an amazing opportunity to be able to connect with new audiences. Events in Missouri, New York City, Baltimore and the existence of oppression across the globe serve as a reminder that the struggle for justice and equality continues. Remembrance of the lives and service of the Reverend Doctor Martin Luther King, Jr., Nelson Mandela, Cesar Chavez and Marion Barry inspire us to continue the fight for equality and justice. Love is the force that inspired these movements and love inspires me to create.
